I am getting to know Nina!!

I am making a new quilt called Stitchers Garden.  The purpose of the quilt is to acquaint me with all the stitches on my machine.  I have had a great time trying out different stitches, feet, and different techniques for quilting the blocks.  My machine is 5 years old and I got it right after I retired from teaching.  My sister and I went to the International Quilt Festival in Houston and that is where, one morning as we were getting ready to see the Mart one more time, we looked at each other and said, "Let's look at the machines and maybe get one!!"  So that is just what we did.  Well, 5 years later, I am just now getting to know my machine and everything it can do.  Let me introduce you to Nina, my 630 Bernina.

I love the block that I made this month. The next block, I will be adding ribbons and other things to it.  More on that when I get it done.  Meanwhile, enjoy my first block of Stitchers Garden!

Happy Quilting Girlfriends!!
Luv ya,  Jodi

    1. It is really fun. It was hard to decide what color thread to use when sewing down the appliqué. I really think I will like the black except that all the mistakes really show up!!

  2. That's an awesome story...did you sister get the same machine? I guess I don't really know my machine either and it's sounding sick the last time I worked on it. =( Love your block!

  5. Our local quilt store that sells Bernina's is having the "block of the month" class. It is fun to see how different everyone's quilt is even though we all have the same pattern and are using basically the same techniques!! Happy Quilting!!
